C. Hyter
President & CEO, Novations

Over
his 19-year career at the Dayton Hudson Corporation, he held a wide
range of human resources and management positions. In 1996, he joined
J. Howard & Associates (now Novations’ diversity &
inclusion practice). He was attracted to the organization because of
its mission of developing talent and helping organizations increase
the yield of their employees. In 1999, he was promoted to a managing
director; in 2001, he was named President & CEO of J. Howard &
Associates; and in 2006 he became President and CEO of Novations
Group, Inc.

Hyter’s
work with executives in Fortune 1000 companies has resulted in
organization-wide initiatives that have enhanced the business
objectives of those organizations. He has also helped them expand
that work into their subsidiaries in Europe.
Alex Vestal PhD. Candidate, University of Central Florida
Alex Vestal's research and thesis is in strategic
management and technology and innovation. He received his M.B.A.
from the University of Central Florida in 2006, and graduated
magna cum laude with a B.S.E.E. from the University of Central
Florida in 2001.
After graduation, Alex worked as an
Engineer and Senior Engineer at Progress Energy Florida. He was
responsible for determining long term system planning objectives and
identifying engineering solutions for $32M in annual future load growth demands. He also worked in a project management
role where he frequently managed more than two hundred new service
projects at a time.
Prior to earning his B.S.E.E., Alex served in
the USAF as a communication and navigation systems technician on C-5
and C-141 aircraft.
Raymond Gilley, President & CEO, Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission
Ray
Gilley joined the EDC as President and Chief Executive Officer in
April of 2001. In his role, he leads the operations of a $6 million
regional organization with a 32-person staff that represents the
four-county region of Orange, Seminole, Lake and Osceola, and the
City of Orlando.
Prior to joining the EDC, Mr. Gilley spent 15 years
in operations management and professional roles with Progress Energy
Corporation, the state’s second largest electric utility company,
and five years in research and national business development roles
with the Florida Department of Commerce.
He
served as chairman of the Board of Workforce Florida, Inc. from 2002
- 2005, appointed by then Florida Governor Jeb Bush. In that
capacity, he led the development of the state’s workforce policy,
programs and services. Other gubernatorial/legislative
appointments included: Lake-Sumter Community College Board of
Trustees and the Governor’s Commission on the Future of Space &
Aeronautics in Florida.
Other past leadership roles include: Orlando
Regional Healthcare System Trustee - a $1 billion seven hospital
system; Orange County Jail Oversight Commission; Workforce Central
Florida; Lake Industrial Development Authority. Mr. Gilley has
served on two local and regional bank boards and a credit union. He
is a past volunteer president of the South Lake Chamber and has
served as chairman of several community based non-profit
organizations over the years.
Bob Burns President & CEO, R.L. Burns Inc.
A
native of North Philadelphia, PA, Bob Burns followed his father's
footsteps by pursuing his entrepreneurial spirit. He formed Burns
Construction Company in 1987. Within three years of inception, Bob
found that starting his own business was much tougher than he
expected. While evaluating the decision whether to continue with his
own business, he was offered a position as Project Manager in Florida
with Wade Development.
After
four years working as a Project Manager, Mr Burns felt that he had
reached the glass ceiling. Hoping for the opportunity to advance in
his leadership and creativity Bob decided give Entrepreneurship
another try. He opened R L Burns Inc. a general construction/
construction management firm in 1994. This company was founded on the
mission to provide quality construction for his clients and
end-users.
R
L Burns Inc. celebrated its 15th
Anniversary 2009. One year earlier, the company achieved a milestone
with the Grand Opening of its new Corporate Office. This long time
dream was a project which was designed and built by Bob and allowed
him to revisit his first love of furniture design.
Today,
Bob is an active board member of the Executive Board of The Central
Florida Council for Boy Scouts of America, The African American
Chamber of Commerce and the Orange County Enterprise Zone Development
Agency.
